Workspaces

Build a board of tiles over a model's results, bind it to a scenario, slice it, present it full screen and share it.

Needs a model open

Where: Workspaces

A workspace is a saved board of tiles that read a model's solved results: KPIs, charts, tables, financials, a narrative. Use one to track the same numbers weekly, compare scenarios, or walk a team through a plan.

Other ways in: Ctrl/⌘+K → Go to Workspaces, or the Workspaces card on the model home, which opens the model's most recent workspace. Once the Base is solved and the model has no workspace, Suggested next offers Set up your first workspace. With no model open, clicking Workspaces opens the header's model menu so you can pick one.

Find a workspace

The landing lists every workspace you can see under EXISTING WORKSPACES (N). MODEL filters it to one model, or All models; it starts on the model you have open, and new workspaces are created on the model it shows. Search workspaces matches the workspace or model name. Sort by: Last updated (newest first), Name or Model.

The list groups Pinned first, then your folders A–Z, then UNGROUPED; click a group header to collapse it. Sorting happens inside each group. Each row shows the name, model, tile count and last update; click it to open.

On a rowWhat it does
StarPin to top / Unpin.
FolderMoves the workspace to a folder. + New folder… creates one; Ungrouped takes it out.
PERSONAL / ORGANIZATIONALThe workspace's tier.
ShieldPermissions for "{name}": opens the sharing dialog. See Share a workspace. Shown only if you may share it.
GlobePromote to organizational, or demote to personal. Shown only if you may promote it.
CopyDuplicate: copies the tiles, layout, description and scenario binding to a new workspace on the same model, and opens it.
TrashDelete, after Delete workspace "{name}"? "This cannot be undone."

With none yet, the landing says No saved workspaces yet. A link to a workspace that's gone, or on a model you can't see, opens Workspace not found; click Back to the Library. Opening a workspace by its link also opens its model.

Start a new workspace

Pick a model in MODEL first. Then:

Start withWhat you get
Type in DESCRIBE WHAT YOU WANT, OR LET RIA PROPOSE, then Have RIA build it (or Ctrl/⌘+Enter)RIA designs a board from your sentence.
Start blankAn empty board you fill with widgets yourself. Asks you to Name the new workspace, then opens it.
Let RIA proposeRIA designs the most useful board for the model, without a sentence from you.
TEMPLATESA ready-made board; see Use a template.
Design a workspace suiteRIA plans a set of boards for the model; see Plan a suite with RIA.

Inside a workspace, the left panel adds the Templates for this model cards, every workspace Saved on this model, and New blank workspace (asks you to Name the new workspace, then opens an empty canvas). With a scenario bound in the picker bar, it also offers to build or refresh a workspace tuned to that scenario's diagnosis: what blocked or squeezed the plan and the moves that would help most. The Scenarios screen's Open in workspace and Compare in a workspace, and a workflow run's Open analysis, create workspaces from the same templates.

Have RIA build it

Build a workspace with RIA opens with your sentence and works through five steps: Reading your model's data, Designing the tiles, Binding them to your numbers, Arranging the layout, Verifying the data tiles. It uses only data your model has, and test-runs each data tile first. The preview shows RIA's plan and why, an editable Name, and Tiles (N) with the data each reads. Drop this tile removes one; Adjusted to fit your data and Not placed list what RIA changed or left out. Click Create + open, or Start over.

Use a template

Open TEMPLATES on the landing and click one:

TemplateTiles
Single-scenario reviewYour goal's value, a plan summary, KPIs, production by product, and recent changes.
Compare scenariosA scenario comparison, a financials comparison, and what changed in the inputs. The compare set fills with up to 4 other solved scenarios.
Infeasibility analysisA diagnosis, the highest-value moves, what's holding the plan back, pressure by period, penalty pressure, what flowed, and the trace of what made the plan impossible.

Tiles with no data on this model are left out; if none would have data, nothing opens. Solve the scenario the template reads first (for Compare scenarios, a second scenario).

Inside a workspace, Templates for this model has four cards: Scenario analysis, Scenario comparison, Diagnose and Data exploration (a data explorer, a KPI grid and a tile per KPI). A card opens the model's workspace made from it (OPEN ›, or · CURRENT if you're in it), or creates it (+ CREATE).

Plan a suite with RIA

Design a workspace suite has RIA plan a set of boards for the model, each for an audience: executive, analyst or operator. While it drafts you see Profiling this model's data, Drafting the suite with RIA and Validating against the data. Each planned board then appears with its purpose; RIA composes them in the background, so you can close the window and come back. Click a board to rename it, Skip or Include it, drop tiles, or Regenerate this workspace. A board marked needs a solve waits for a solved scenario. Click Create N workspaces, or Discard plan. Once RIA has planned a suite, the landing shows RIA planned a workspace suite for this model. with Review RIA's plan, and the model home's Suggested next offers Review your proposed workspaces.

Arrange a board

Drag a tile by the grip at the left of its header to move it, or by its bottom-right corner to resize it. Tiles snap to a 12-column grid and close up gaps. Every drop saves.

Click Edit widgets, above the board, to put a remove button (✕) on every tile's header and an Add widget button beside it; Done editing takes them away. A removed tile goes at once and the tiles below close up. "Removed {name}." with Undo stays over the board for ten seconds; Undo puts the tile back where it was.

Details at the bottom of the panel shows the Owner, the tile count, when it was Updated, and the workflow Run and Stage when the workspace belongs to a run. An empty board says This canvas is empty and offers + Add widget and Add widgets with RIA. If a change doesn't save, a banner says A canvas change didn't save; click Reload to see what was kept, then make the change again.

Change a tile

Build a board with RIA

ButtonWhat it does
Add widgets with RIADescribe what you want to do in Your intent. RIA picks one of four starting layouts (scenario comparison, diagnosis, data exploration or single-scenario review) and shows Proposed widgets (N). Accept proposal replaces every tile on the board, and the scenario binding.
Edit widgets with RIASay What should RIA change? RIA edits the board you have and shows What RIA changed: added, removed and kept tiles. Apply edit saves it. Tiles it keeps keep their saved questions.
Suggest widgetsRIA offers tiles for data this model actually solved, ranked, as chips over the canvas. Add this widget or Dismiss each.
Describe a widgetAsk for one tile in What do you want to see?; RIA binds it to a solved data source and shows a live Preview. If it can't, it lists what This model exposes. Click Add widget.

Each dialog has Try one examples to start from. Changes RIA proposes in the console appear as a card to approve there; see RIA proposals.

Bind a scenario

The bar across the top of the canvas decides which scenario the tiles read. Opening a workspace carries over the scenario you had selected on the model.

ControlWhat it does
ScenarioBinds the workspace to a scenario; saved with the workspace. Base or ✕ (Unbind active scenario) lets the tiles follow the scenario you have selected on the model, else Base.
RunSolves the bound scenario with its saved edits. Results flow into every tile. One solve at a time.
InspectOpens the Scenario inspector to see what went wrong, change overrides and re-run. Lights up when a solve is impossible or left notes. See What-ifs.
Compare: AddThe scenarios comparison tiles read. Pick top 3 by objective fills it with the three solved scenarios that score best on your goal.
New what-ifAsks you to Name this what-if, creates it, binds the board to it and opens the inspector.
Period:Narrows per-period tiles to one period. Shows when the solve has more than one. It follows you across the model's workspaces.
Slice by:Narrows tiles to one value of a dimension, such as a channel. Only dimensions a tile on the board can use are offered.
Highlight:Click a bar on a chart to highlight that value across the board; Shift-click adds more. With one value, Filter turns it into a Slice by.

Present a board

Fullscreen hides the panel and fills the screen with the board; ← and → then page through the model's workspaces in order, keeping the bound scenario. Esc or Exit fullscreen returns. To enlarge one tile instead, use its Full screen button; see Widgets.

Share a workspace

Click Settings + permissions in the left panel, or the shield on its row on the landing.

LIBRARY TIER shows Personal or Organizational. A change applies as soon as you confirm:

  • Promote to organizational: "Anyone in the org can then view it." Editing still needs a Contributor or Owner role.
  • Demote to personal: "It will be hidden from the org library." Only people listed can see it.

PEOPLE WITH ACCESS has five roles. Expand one, then Add a user and pick from the list, or Remove someone from its chips. Click Save permissions to keep role changes.

RoleCan
Owners"Full control, including delete + promote."
Contributors"Can edit widgets, layout, run queries."
ApproversA role you can fill; a workspace has no sign-off step. Sign-off happens in workflow runs.
Viewers"Read-only access."
AI agentsAutomated accounts that may change the workspace.

View only

If you can read a workspace but not change it, the panel shows View only, editing controls are disabled, tiles don't move and their menus offer only what reads. Suggest widgets still shows and the scenario bar still takes clicks, but eode refuses those changes and the save-error banner says so.

Delete a workspace

Click Delete workspace in the left panel (or the trash icon on its landing row) and confirm. From inside the workspace you land on the Model Library. Deleting a model deletes its workspaces too.

Limits

  • Left panel: 220 to 480 pixels wide; double-click resets it to 280.
  • A suite plans up to 6 boards. RIA composes 3 at a time.
  • A name RIA derives from your sentence is at most 7 words and 48 characters.
  • Data exploration adds a tile for up to 6 KPIs.
  • Paging through workspaces in fullscreen needs at least 2 on the model.
