Your organization
See who's in your organization, invite colleagues, change who's an admin, rename it, or hand it to a new owner.
Where: Profile chip→Organization
Everyone in eode belongs to one organization. Its screen shows who owns it, who's in it, and your standing; owners and admins also manage the roster and the name here.
Ctrl/⌘+K and Go to Organization also opens it. The heading is your organization's name.
See your standing
The Overview tab has three figures: Owner (their name), Members (how many), and You are — the owner, an admin or a member. What each standing can do is on Roles and personas.
See who's in it
The Members tab lists everyone: Name, Role, and your own row tagged you. Owners and admins also see an Email column. A member sees everyone's role as member, because roles are only shown to admins.
Invite a colleague
- On Members, type their address in Email address (colleague@company.com).
- Click Invite, or press Enter.
Someone who already has an account is added right away. Otherwise an invitation is emailed, and they join
when they accept it. The form says which happened: <email> is now a member. or Invitation sent to
<email>. They join when they accept it.
Make someone an admin, or remove them
On Members, each row you may act on has Make admin (or Make member for an admin) and Remove.
- An admin can act on members. Only the owner can act on admins.
- Nobody can act on the owner, or on their own row.
Remove asks first: Remove <name> from <organization>? They lose access to the organization's
models. Work they created inside it stays with the organization. Confirm with Remove. The person is
signed out straight away.
Rename the organization
On Settings, change Organization name and click Save name. The name must be 2 to 80 characters and not already used by another organization, ignoring case and spacing.
Hand the organization to a new owner
An organization always has exactly one owner. On Settings, under Ownership, click Make owner
beside the person, then Transfer ownership in Make <name> the owner of <organization>? You stay
an admin. Only the new owner can transfer ownership again, so this cannot be undone by you alone.
Leave the organization
There's no leave button. Settings says so under Leaving: ask an admin to remove you; work you created stays with the organization. The owner can't leave or be removed, so an owner transfers ownership first. Deleting an organization isn't available: An owner transfers it, or it stays.
When something is refused
Refusals show in a banner, Something went wrong or That did not work, with the reason under it.
| Reason | Means |
|---|---|
| only the owner may demote or remove an admin | You're an admin acting on another admin. |
| organization name must be 2 to 80 characters | Shorten or lengthen the name. |
| The name is taken | Another organization already uses that name. |
| The person is already in an organization | Each person belongs to one organization. They have to be removed from theirs first. |
| Nobody has an account at that address and no invitation can be emailed | Ask them to sign up first, then invite them. |
