Page settings
Set the theme, color-vision palette, motion and scenario values for this browser, and start or replay a guided tour.
Where: Page settings
Page settings sits at the foot of the left rail. It holds how eode looks in this browser and the guided tours. Nothing in it changes your models or your account.
Switch dark and light
Under Appearance, set Theme to Dark or Light. Until you pick one, eode follows your operating system.
Theme at the foot of the rail flips the same setting in one click; see Find your way around.
Show each scenario's value
Under Display, tick Show objective function to print each scenario's value, in dollars, on scenario cards and pickers. It's off by default: "a lone figure has no context without a comparison and crowds the scenario name." See Scenarios.
Make colors easier to tell apart
Under Accessibility, pick a Color vision setting:
| Option | For |
|---|---|
| Off | The standard colors |
| Deuteranopia (green-weak) | Weak green vision |
| Protanopia (red-weak) | Weak red vision |
| Tritanopia (blue-weak) | Weak blue vision |
"Re-colors chart series and the success/warning/error hues so they stay distinguishable. It does not filter the page — that would degrade text and remove information for everyone."
Reduce motion
Under Accessibility, set Motion:
| Option | Does |
|---|---|
| System | Follows your operating system's reduced-motion setting. The default. |
| Reduce | Turns animation down, whatever your operating system says. For example, the RIA console opens without its grow animation. |
| Full | Keeps animation on, whatever your operating system says. Useful on a work computer where you can't change that setting. |
Take a guided tour
Under Guidance, each tour has a title, a line on what it covers, and a button:
- Start closes Page settings and starts the tour.
- Stop shows while that tour runs.
- Replay replaces Start once you've finished a tour, and a ✓ marks it done.
| Tour | What it covers | Steps |
|---|---|---|
| Get oriented | "A quick lap around the product — where everything lives." | This is home base, Start something new here, Everything you build lives here, These light up with a model open, Map and optimization surfaces, Repeatable processes, Your assistant is always right here, Need more room?, Make it yours |
| Build your first model | "RIA interviews you and builds a working model from your answers." | Start here, Take the guided door, Type here, Send it, Answer what it asks, Build it, It proves itself first, That's it — now just ask |
A tour also starts by itself the first time you sign in; see Sign in and first run.
Follow the tour's card
A ring marks the control the step is about, and a card beside it explains it. The card's top line reads the tour's name and 3 of 9 (for example).
- Next moves on; on the last step it reads Done, which marks the tour finished.
- Skip or ✕ (Stop this guide) ends the tour without marking it finished.
- In Get oriented, you click Next for every step. In Build your first model, most steps move on by themselves once you've done what they ask.
- The page is never blocked: click anything while the card is up.
- If the control isn't on screen, the card waits in the lower-right corner with a hint on where to find it.
Reset everything
The panel's footer reads Saved on this device. These settings stay in this browser only and are never sent to eode. Another browser or computer starts from the defaults.
Reset to defaults puts back the theme, Color vision, Motion, Show objective function, and the tours: it stops a running tour and clears which ones you've finished. It doesn't touch the rail's collapsed state or the panel widths you've dragged.
Close the panel
Press Esc, click outside the panel, or click ✕. While it's open, Tab stays inside the panel, and closing it puts you back where you were.
Limits
- Settings apply to this browser only.
- One tour runs at a time. A running tour carries on after you reload the page.
