Model Library

Find any model you can see by tier, smart list, category or search, read its state from the row, and rename, pin, duplicate, delete or open it.

Where: Model Library

The Model Library lists every model you can see, so you can find one, read its state and act on it without opening it. Ctrl/⌘+K → Go to Model Library gets you here from anywhere. New model, top right, starts a new one; see New Model.

Pick a tab

TabLists
PERSONALYour own models, and models with no tier.
ORGANIZATIONALModels promoted to your organization. See Share and govern a model.
ALLEvery model you can see.
DATA CONNECTIONSSources and connected models, not a model list. See Data connections.

The Library opens on PERSONAL every visit. Each tab's count covers every model you can see, so filtering doesn't shrink it; if the list failed to load, the counts read — instead of 0. Switching tab clears the search, turns Mine off and resets the smart list to All models, but keeps your sort and Grouped.

Find a model

ControlWhat it does
Search name, description, tag, owner…Every word you type must appear in the model's name, description or tags. "price bakery" finds "Bakery price hike". Clear (✕) empties it.
Sort models byRecently updated (the default), Newest, Name (A-Z), Base objective (highest first; models without a solved Base last) or Most scenarios. Pinned models stay above the rest whatever the sort.
MineOnly models you own.
GroupedCategory sections instead of one flat list. On by default. Shows only once the Library has categories.

{n} hidden by filters counts the models on this tab that the search, Mine or the smart list took away. eode remembers your sort, Mine, Grouped and pins in this browser, per account; the search and the smart list reset each visit.

Use a smart list

SMART LISTS down the left side cut the current tab by state. Each row shows a count that follows the tab and Mine but ignores the search.

Smart listModels in it
All modelsEverything on the tab.
PinnedThe ones you pinned with the star.
Needs reviewWaiting on you: a design, structure, mapping or imported data to review, a scenario to pick, more context, or data to load.
BuildingImporting or mapping right now. The icon spins while the count is above 0.
RecentThe 12 most recently updated. Reads Recent (mine) with Mine on.
No scenarios yetBuilt and not failed, but with 0 scenarios.
LockedLocked by anyone.
Failed importThe import didn't finish.
ScheduledA sync schedule that's turned on. Paused schedules aren't counted.

A row with 0 is disabled, except All models and the one you're in.

Browse by category

With Grouped on and at least three models in view, the list splits into one section per category. Each header shows the category, {n} models and ▸ show / ▾ hide; collapsed sections open again on your next visit. A section sits where its best-ranked model would under your sort. Models with no category go under Uncategorized; if every model would land there, the list stays flat. Each row in a section gets an italic line saying why it's in that category. eode keeps the categories up to date itself; there's nothing to re-organize.

Read a row

Chips before the name:

ChipMeans
PERSONAL / ORGANIZATIONALThe tier. PERSONAL: "only you can see this". ORGANIZATIONAL: "Visible to your organization".
Locked by you / LockedSomeone holds the lock. The tooltip gives the reason, if one was given. See Lock a model.
ImportingStill reading the import. The row border turns amber.
Import failedThe import didn't finish. The border turns red.
Pick scenarioThe workbook holds more than one scenario; pick the Base. See Pick the Base for an imported workbook.
Draft"Named on the authoring walk; open it to continue describing".
Pending reviewWaiting on you to confirm a design, approve a mapping, or load data.
Structure reviewThe structure is ready for you to accept; Accept structure builds and solves it.
From Excel, Mixed sources, ImportedBuilt from a workbook or a connected source. Mixed sources means more than one fed it. The tooltip names the workbook or sources.
From PromptBuilt from your description in conversation with RIA.
From PythonImported from a Python project.
Imported + a file typeImported from a model file. The tooltip names the file.
Syncs {frequency} · next {when} / Sync offThe sync schedule. The tooltip says where it syncs from, when it last ran and when it runs next.
Last sync failedThe last scheduled sync didn't complete. The tooltip gives the reason.

Provenance chips hide while a model is importing or failed. Under the name: Base and the solved figure (left out until the Base is solved), the scenario, KPI and factor counts, Updated with the date and time (hover for the full timestamp), and By you or the owner's name.

Act on a model

Every action is on the row; hover an icon for its name. Open the model only when you need its contents.

ControlWhat it does
Click the nameSame as Open model →.
Rename (pencil, on hover)Edits the name in place. Enter or Save keeps it, Esc or Cancel drops it.
Pin to top / Unpin from top (star)Floats the model above the rest and adds it to Pinned. Pins are yours, in this browser.
Version historyOpens the model's versions. See Versions and history.
Audit logWho did what to the model. See Versions and history.
Sync now"rebuild from the connected sources" in the background. Works on a paused schedule too. Only on a model with a schedule.
Pause scheduled sync / Resume scheduled syncTurns the schedule off or on without losing it.
Permissions, Lock model, Promote to OrganizationalSee Share and govern a model.
DuplicateAsks you to Name the copy (default "{name} copy"), then opens the copy's Scenarios.
DeleteAsks Delete model "{name}"? and deletes it on Delete.
Edit modelOpens the model's authoring walk. See Change a model.
Accept structureOnly on a Structure review row: accepts the structure, then builds and solves the model.
Open model →A ready model opens its model home. A model at any other step opens the New Model walk at that step. Reads Extracting… while an import is running.

Duplicate a model

The copy belongs to you and always starts PERSONAL, unlocked and uncategorized, with the original's topology, KPIs, solved Base and build record. You only need to be able to see the original, so you can copy an organizational model you can't edit. If you already own a model with the copy's name, eode names it "{name} #2", "#3" and so on. A blank name cancels.

Delete a model

Deleting removes the model and everything built on it: its scenarios, workspaces, workflows and their runs, and requests made on it. Only the owner or an Org Admin can delete. The button shows for everyone; anyone else gets Delete failed — and the reason. A lock doesn't stop the owner deleting. If you had the model open, you go back to the Library.

When an action fails

The row shows {Action} failed — and eode's reason, for Rename, Duplicate, Delete, Demote, Sync now, Pause sync and Resume sync. The next action that succeeds on that row clears it. For example, a name you already use on another model reads: you already have a model named '{name}'; '{suggestion}' is free.

Edit model is hidden for the Operator and Executive personas; see Roles and personas.

Pick the Base for an imported workbook

A row with Pick scenario came from a workbook that holds several scenarios. Click Open model → or the name to open Pick the scenario to import. Each option shows the sheet it was found in, a confidence percentage and, for eode's best guess, Suggested. Pick one and click Import {name} as Base. Cancel, Esc or a click outside closes it.

When the list is empty

The message names what emptied it:

You seeBecause
Nothing in "{smart list}".The smart list has no models on this tab.
Nothing in "{smart list}" matches your search. The smart list and the search together left nothing.
No models match your search. The search found nothing.
No models match your filters.Mine left nothing.
No personal models yet. / No organizational models yet. / No models yet.The tab is empty. Use New model to start one; see New Model.
Could not load your models —The list didn't load. "This is a load failure, not an empty library. Nothing has been lost." Click Try again.

Open a model from the command palette

Press Ctrl/⌘+K and type a model's name; it always opens the model home, whatever step the model is on. See Command palette.

Limits

  • Recent holds the 12 most recently updated models.
  • Category sections need at least 3 models in view.
  • Search doesn't match an owner's name.
  • You can't give two of your own models the same name; case and spacing are ignored. Duplicates are renamed "#2", "#3".
