What changed in eode, newest first.

eode is continuously delivered: the hosted platform always runs the current release, and these notes record what changed: what's New, what got Improved, and what's Fixed. Use the filters to see one kind of change or one area, or search for a feature.

New
  • Build a modelBefore a workbook's model is built, eode now points out data that would leave the plan wrong or empty, each on its own card at the mapping review with the fix it offers: a sale no lane reaches, demand that needs more hours than your data gives, an item priced below its cost, an item made only at a site the plan may close, a lane whose transit takes a whole period or more, and an item made at one site and used at another with no lane between them.
  • Build a modelA workbook you revise and upload again with a new sheet takes you back to reading that sheet alone. The sheets you already agreed stay as they are, and a sheet that changes the model's shape is designed in for you to confirm before the data loads.
Improved
  • Ask RIAThe RIA console is now a diamond you can drag anywhere on the page. Click it and the console opens as a pane floating over the page, so no screen keeps a console column. It starts closed and opens only when you click it or send a message. See RIA Console.
  • Ask RIAOne conversation menu replaces the Chat and Conversations tabs, and New conversation asks for a name. See Conversations.
  • Organize and shareIn a workspace, Edit widgets puts a remove control on every tile; a removed tile closes up the layout and can be undone, and Done editing ends it. Add widget offers the widgets your model's data can feed and sets the rest apart as "Needs data this model does not have". See Widgets.
  • Ask RIABoards RIA builds for you no longer include a tile that would open empty.
  • Build a modelChanging your description after eode has read it asks first, Change the description?, and says what will be discarded. Keep the description as it was backs out with nothing lost. See New model.
  • Build a modelOn Clarify, Describe it opens its own box inside the option, and ticking it alone no longer settles the question. A description that already says everything is not asked questions, and a model built from a workbook is never asked for prices.
  • GeneralIf your tables spell the same name two ways that differ only in capital letters, the load stops and names both spellings and where each appears. Exports use your own spelling of every name.
Fixed
  • Work with a modelA what-if's financial statements show the what-if's own figures instead of No financial statements.
  • Build a modelA solve whose best plan is to do nothing says the plan is empty, and why. See Build and baseline.
  • GeneralAsking for the shipping lanes on a map draws the network map, not a bar chart, and a model whose plants ship straight to customers gets its flow map.
  • DataDelete column in a dataset's grid removes every selected column in one confirmation and one undo step.
  • Build a modelA build or a reading that stopped on the server says so once, with a way to run it again, instead of spinning.
  • Organize and shareModel Library cards rearrange to fit a narrow window.

  • Your accountHelp & support in the profile menu: ask a question, report a bug or send an idea, attach images, and follow our replies under My requests. It opens as a wide side panel. A resolved request is read-only; Start a new request opens another. See Help and support.
  • Ask RIARIA keeps named conversations per model. Reopen one and RIA picks up where it left off; rename your own with Rename. See Conversations.
  • Organize and shareThe Workspaces list has Search workspaces, sorting, Duplicate, and the permissions and promote/demote buttons on each row. See Workspaces.
  • DataThe Dataset Library gets the Model Library's permissions, Promote / Demote and its Personal / Organizational tiers. See Datasets.
  • DataA Microsoft Excel connection reads each table on a sheet, previews it, and lets you take column names from any header row. A block of cells that is not shaped like a table starts unticked as Not a table, with the reason. See Import data.
  • Build a modelWhen you start from a workbook, Don't use this column sets a column aside. See Start from a workbook.
Improved
  • DataMicrosoft Excel is the one data source you can connect; the others are marked COMING SOON. See Data connections.
  • Build a modelThe Solve step shows the solve running, with a moving bar and an elapsed clock that survives a reload. See Build and baseline.
  • Ask RIAThe console shows what RIA is doing as plain steps, such as "Reading your plan", and RIA talks about your model in your business's words rather than technical names.
  • Build a modelA profit model built from a description alone asks for its selling prices at Clarify, rather than building without them. See Describe your business.
  • Build a modelWhere your workbook gives a machine no hours, it is limited to the calendar hours in each period, with no overtime assumed.

  • GeneralInviting someone whose earlier account was removed sends the invitation instead of failing.
  • Ask RIASwitching between models quickly no longer freezes RIA.
  • Organize and shareA workspace's scenario bar no longer covers the open model menu.
  • Your accountIf eode cannot check your sign-in, you see a page saying the service is unavailable instead of being sent round the sign-in page again.

  • Build a modelWhen you attach data to a new model, eode shows you how it read each sheet, column and term before it designs anything. You choose which sheets to use, correct where its lists of names come from, settle units it was unsure of, decide what to do about anything the data does not say, and say in one sentence what you want to decide. See Your data, as I read it.
  • Build a modelImporting a planning or financial report workbook as a dataset also gives you tidy tables read out of each report sheet, one per report panel, with each line item's source cell, its section and a total marker. The original sheet stays too. See Datasets.
  • Work with a modelOne download, Your model, described, gives you the model as a workbook, a PDF or text under one file name per revision — on the Build step's Review, after the solve, and on the model home. See Download your model, described.
  • Change and trustYou can act on what the independent review found missing: Add it rebuilds the model with the missing piece; Leave it out records your decision and can be undone. See The independent review.
  • Work with a modelA what-if suggestion on the model's backlog can now be built into the model itself with Build it into my model, not only run as a scenario.
  • Ask RIAThe RIA Console shows one pending proposal at a time, with a count of the rest, and every proposal card has an X to hide it.
  • Build a modelWhen your description values the plan by net present value (NPV) but does not say which figure to discount — the cash the business throws off, or the accounting profit — Clarify asks instead of choosing for you, and asks when the first period's cash counts if you did not say. See Questions you may be asked.

  • GeneralOn Describe your goals, the first row is now What to optimize — "The one number the model should push." It was Objective function.
  • Work with a modelYour baseline is labelled with the goal you typed, in your own words, instead of a generic Best objective or Lowest total cost. See Your baseline.
  • Organize and shareEditing a model now starts in step 1 of its model home. The separate edit buttons in the model header, on Model Library rows and in the command palette are gone. See Model home.
  • Ask RIABoards RIA composes for you — from Have RIA build it, Let RIA propose, or a workspace suite — now read top to bottom: a short summary with the plan's numbers, one KPI grid, then figures, charts in pairs, tables, and collaboration tiles last. Boards for entering inputs carry no commentary and give each input table its own full-width row. See Build a board with RIA.
  • Build a modelMaterials your description names as bought are modelled as purchases with their own cost, rather than folded into the cost of the process that uses them.
  • GeneralHome shows the River Logic mark beside the greeting.
  • Build a modelChecking the design is now one page, Check the design: Confirm each section or say what Needs correcting, then Accept the design or Rebuild with these notes. It used to be one screen per section with Looks good, signed off from Review. Corrections you sent earlier are shown back at the top.
  • Build a modelThe build's findings — where your data lands, the checks, the independent review, and your brief against the model — sit under the build, in plain words, and each check is named in words ("Every order is delivered") instead of a code.
  • Build a modelThe Model Design card reads plainly: one-word section titles, a Rules section with each rule as a sentence, and scope counts that say what they count. How this is built (for modellers) is shorter and holds only what the card does not.
  • Your accounteode is invitation-only. If your account is not in an organization you see a page asking you to get an invitation from your admin, with Sign out. You can no longer create an organization or ask to join one from inside eode, and Leave organization is gone — an admin removes you from the members list. A removed member is signed out right away.
  • DataClicking a column header in a dataset's grid now just selects the column. Use Sort in the toolbar to reorder rows.
  • Build a modelBuilding a model from a connection no longer builds on part of your data: if a sheet or table holds more rows than the import reads, the build stops and names each one with its row count. See Build a model from a workbook.
  • GeneralA wait that runs long now says so, and Stop waiting and go back returns you to where you were without losing anything.
  • Work with a modelWith nothing to load, Load your own data offers Create the baseline with sample data, which keeps the sample numbers and goes straight to Solve.
  • Work with a modelSending a design back shows your correction to you on Check the design, and clears the old baseline until the model is solved again.
Fixed
  • Work with a modelA model rebuilt since its last solve no longer shows the old baseline as current.
  • Build a modelThe periods listed on Check the design read as their names (for example `Jan 2027`) instead of raw data.
  • Organize and shareThe Scenarios screen no longer loses its selected scenario on a model that had no scenarios when you opened it, so its KPI tiles and starter what-ifs now match the model's Overview.
  • Ask RIARIA's side remarks about work it was already doing now show as quiet notes above your question, so answers no longer arrive one message behind.
  • Ask RIAAfter a build, the console no longer offers to send your message to a different model than the one you are working on.
